Inca trail 2 days 1 night to machu picchu

The first day begins with the pick up at your hotel in Cusco at 04:00 am. along with your guide. Afterwards, we will go to the Ollantaytambo station in a private bus, which will take approximately an hour and a half. Once there, you will take the train together with your guide to kilometer 104, the starting point for the 2-day Inca Trail tour. During the journey, we will visit archaeological sites such as Chachabamba and Wiñayhuayna. You will be able to appreciate the impressive views of the Urubamba River and see different types of orchids. After walking for about 2 hours, we will arrive at the archaeological center of Wiñayhuayna, where you will have a short break and have lunch with the “box lunch”.

Then, we will continue the walk towards Machu Picchu until we reach the Puerta del Sol (Inti Punku), where we can see the sunset. The afternoon light is ideal for taking photos and there are fewer tourists in the area. We will continue walking for about 45 minutes until we reach Machu Picchu, where we will take the bus to Aguas Calientes. There, we will coordinate the dinner time included and we will take advantage of the moment to finalize the details of the guided tour in Machu Picchu the next day.

The morning of the second day will be especially magical, since we will wake up very early to take the first bus to Machu Picchu and see how the sun rises over the ruins. After a brief walk, the guided tour of approximately 3 hours will begin, during which the most outstanding aspects of the Inca city will be explained, such as the enclosures, squares, sacred fountains, temples, and the agricultural and urban sector. After the guided tour, you will have time to explore on your own and, if you wish, hike the mountain of Huaynapicchu (with an additional entrance ticket of $65 per person). In the afternoon, we will return to Aguas Calientes and take the train back to Ollantaytambo, where a driver will wait for us to take us back to our hotel in Cusco.
