Views :

DESCRIPTION:

Because of its remote location, Choquequirao ("Golden Cradle" in Quechua, language of the Incas) is relatively new trekking circuit. Only since 1992, it has been restored by the people who work in cleaning the area. There are few visitors because of its remoteness and its difficult hike. Situated on a ridge overlooking the chasm created by the Apurimac River, this mythical city has a rivalry with Machu Picchu in terms of beauty. Little is known about this site that is visited infrequently.
